I'm so glad you are here! I hope during your visit you get a glimpse of God's heart for we become what we are gazing at. Currently I am writing my way through Judges sharing glimpses of God's heart and character for a weekday devotional. To check out the entire series so far head on over the the Judges Devotional. And if you blog, come on over on Friday's for a blog link up. "Then they took what Micah had made, and his priest, and went on to Laish, against a peaceful and unsuspecting people. They attacked them with the sword and burned down their city. There was no one to rescue them because they lived a long way from Sidon and had no relationship with anyone else..." Judges 18:27-28 Have you ever felt alone? Have you ever been in need yet no rescuer in sight? Has what's been given to you been taken and used for evil? Have you ever been treated unfairly? Has what you loved been destroyed? I imagine these are the things the unsuspecting people of Laish felt. Can you relate to them? There is someone else who has felt these things, someone who deeply understands. Someone who says yes to all of these. Jesus, the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, who took on flesh to be killed by His creation knows, truly knows what we are going through. Not just intellectually, but circumstantially. He's been there, feeling that very same emotion. What are you feeling at this moment? The person who designed your DNA has felt it too. But not only did feel what you feel and experience the very same things we have, He overcame it so we can be more than conquerors. His death, His resurrection, beating the sting of death means life for us. We have hope because what men intend for evil God intended for good. I'm sure in some way we all can relate to the unsuspecting people who had everything ripped from them. But Jesus, our Overcomer, our Restorer, Redeemer, the Soon and Coming King who will make all things right, the Conquerer of death stealing it's sting is our Compassionate Shepherd. Have a minute? He would love to hear from you. Loving that Jesus understands all that we go through! The Lord is such a relational God!

There are so many great gems in the book of Judges. Unfortunately I'm generally too impatient to seek them out. I love the way so many things throughout scripture point directly to Jesus.

Isolation is such a tool of the enemy -- thanks for that reminder.

Even not having children until we were married was for our own good. I would have been a horrible parent if I had children right away!! God knows us SO well! Thank you, dear one :)
