John 4 tells her story. Isn't that just amazing. John 4 tells her story! The God who created soap suds and the thorny lizard, the One who breathed the stars into being, He thinks this story, this beautiful lady's story is such a big deal that it's worth sharing that He wrote it down that we, now in 2012 can read about it. Did you know this is the longest conversation recorded in Scripture between Jesus and anyone? And the fact that the Lord chose this special conversation to be recorded with a woman, an outcast woman no less is flat out shocking! God thinks this story is a big deal! So grab a journal or piece of paper and pen and read John 4 and write down at least 5 observations about her life, heart and character. And why not check out what some commentaries say about this story. Jot down in your journal what sticks out to you. Our vulnerable, disregarded, social outcast lady is not known by her name but by her location and by her sin. But Jesus steps in and changes that. He gives her an honor no one else in the world gets having the longest recorded conversation with Jesus and ends her story with eternal redemption bragging on her of how many came to know Jesus because of her. Something beautiful about Jesus is seen here. He bows to the custom by asking to talk to her husband. Respectable women didn't speak with a man alone in public. So when Jesus asked her to get her husband, He was honoring her, assuring her of his interest in her welfare. He sure does know how to put us at ease. And the reaction of encountering Jesus is seeing not only Him as He truly is, but also seeing ourselves as we truly are motivating us to confess sins openly and share the gospel freely. Write down 3 or 4 principles (general law or truth) can you derive. And what would it specifically look like for that to play out in your life this week? The is the Second in the SeriesHere's a sneak peak of whats to come...Here's a sneak peak of whats to come...Priscilla; In it Together Tamar; Life and Dreams Robbed Eunice; Seeing a Faithful Reward Miriam; Dishonor, What's the Big Deal? And why not invite others to journey with us? Will you invite a few other ladies to follow this journey with us? Who comes to mind? Will you send them this link and ask them to follow along. It will be a great thing to talk about together. I will even post some discussion questions for your guys to talk about at the end of each week. You also might like:

Thanks for this reminder of what each and everyone of us mean to Him. My 22 year old daughter has fallen in love with a Christ centered man and worries that she will sabotage it. She feels she doesn't deserve his love. We just had this conversation last night and this morning I can share your words with her. Thanks for the reminder of what we mean to Him.

It's brings such peace to know that Jesus loves us no matter who we are, where we've been, or what we've done. I love this story! Thank you for linking up today.
