Matter is Not About MeTwo very smart men came up with a theory. The string theory. And while they were at the chalk board figuring the math, one of them says, "We must be getting close, the gods don't want us to get this" speaking in reference to the thunder and lightening they were hearing. When I heard that, I just marveled at God. How He gives things to us even when we are so prideful and unaware of Him and truth. Common grace. He gives sun and rain on the righteous and unrighteous. When scientists or mathematicians discover something, it is God revealing it. What a gift! And a lot of the time, it's something we knew from Scripture already. Things like the earth was a sphere and hung on nothing, that the universe is expanding and will be destroyed with fire. So how crazy it sounds for a smart man to say what he did. Smart yet foolish. So I might actually be the furthest thing from a mathematician or quantum physicist but one of the things that fascinates me the most in life is seeing how God reveals Himself, especially through His Word and in His creation. Last night I was watching a show talking about The String Theory or The Theory of Everything. Basically, it is saying that through mathematics they believe that there is smaller stuff than what they originally thought. Stuff smaller than atoms or corks. Something called a string which vibrates and which brings specific form to everything. Or more well put, "A central concept to string theory is that the smallest components of matter are small bits of energy vibrating like the strings on a violin. These vibrations form a cosmic symphonywhich is at the heart of all reality. In the same way as a violin can produce many variation of musical notes, these strings, vibrating at different frequencies, form all the fundamental particles of the reality we observe. Our universe is the beautiful symphony produced by the resonance of all these vibrating strings."1 Ok, seriously this fascinates me because God said and it was! That is a vibration, and just like when I talked about how God causes things to multiply, His creative multiplication is also seen in creation. No two people, snowflakes, finger prints, heart beats etc. are the same. None are the same. How creative is God! That throughout time, none the same. Wow! With tiny strings making up everything, that totally makes sense if they are all wiggling to their own specific vibration. Of course nothing would be the same. And how incredible would it be if we all had our own unique little song, just like the stars and whales. And if the string theory is true, everything would have it's own little song. I put this video up a couple weeks ago, but I just love Louie's teaching and this video let's you hear the songs and the whales sing. I can't believe Not About Me November is almost over. When I first began to think about this I was pretty scared. My life is so busy with ministry and kids, was I really going to be able to blog every weekday (even if it was only for 17 days)? But this has turned out to be such a fun blessing! It's like a brain-training camp. Filtering every thought through the filter of "it's not about me". Sweet friends, thank you for taking this journey with me. I have loved reading all the posts of the ladies who have linked up. So inspiring and insightful! Last 4 days here we come. Luxury or Poverty, it's just not about me {Day 13) The Mission is not about me {Day 12} God Showing His Greatness is not about me {Day 11} Rawness is not about me {Day 10} Family is not about me {Day 9} Mess is not about me {Day 8} My Identity is not about me {Day 7} Technology is not about me {Day 6} My Curiosity is not about me {Day 5} My emotions are not about me {Day 4} My reputation is not about me {Day 3} What I know is not about me {Day 2} My ministry is not about me{Day 1} If you're participating in the Not About Me Challenge, link up below. And then tweet it with the hashtag #NotAboutMeNovember And since it is also Brag On God Friday, link up your posts that tell about how incredible God is and put a link to this list or put my button code (found on the side bar) on your post for people to find these other great ladies bragging about the greatness of God. What an amazing post! The more science advances, the more the Bible is proven true, and the more God's glory, creativity, and power are revealed! I am a retired MD and formerly a biochemistry researcher, and I have seen scientific theories come and go. But God's Word is the same, yesterday, today and forever! To accept the "wisdom" of science over the truth of God's Word, as in evolution vs. creation, is utter foolishness.

It is amazing how small we are in God's sight and then we discover that there are some things yet so small that are just now being brought into view!

Wow!! What a way to start a morning!! Singing praise to God with the Universe itself! "All creatures - and creations - of our God and King, lift up your voice and with me sing..." =no figment of someone's imagination. I am thinking how, though we cannot hear that entire symphony of it all, God can, and someday in eternity with Him, maybe we will, too.

I just love this Laura b/c I'm a thinker...I like to know how things work and I love the string thing you said. Thinking about what He put into His creation is mind blowing.
