Hi. I'm glad you stopped by. I hope the Lord encourages you while you're here. This week I am doing a mini-series on Heaven. Check out the other posts in this series, Why the Seals of the Tribulation?, What heaven's going to be like?. Have you heard of the Bema judgement? Charlie Schaller does a super great drama of it. It brings me to joyful tears everytime I see it. It is totally worth getting some people together to watch it. It will radically change how you view what you are doing with your life, will encourage you and inspire you. Before the Bema (which I will talk about it a minute) Rev. 19 says Jesus will come riding back for us "with justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him, that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron scepter. he treads the winepress of the fure of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS." God will reveal Himself as these things and we will be so incredibly grateful because we will care more about His glory being revealed than about the pain and discomfort of those who denied Him. How harsh this sounds... But we will see more clearly then than we do now. Well, after Jesus has taken the scroll and broke the seals, come back on His white horse to wage war against evil and repossess the earth, there will be the reward ceremony for the believers. This is not the great white throne judgement where sin is dealt with, this is a celebration of how the people of God used their time, talent and treasure. (You seriously should watch the Charlie Schaller video!) The realization that we will be rewarded for our stewardship motivates me to not waste my time, resources, pain or anything else the Lord has given or allowed in my life right now. Over and over in Scripture the Lord tells us to fix our attention on the hope to come for that is what is going to enable us to persevere. The life to come is going to be very real, very tangible and the Lord is serious when He tells us to lay up treasure there rather than here. He knows it is going to be so worth it. So dear friends, lets not hold back. Lets invest every ounce of what we have in the future promised to those who trust in Jesus. Why not take a few minutes and write down everything the Lord has entrusted to you at this point in life. (Good and hard). And think through the maximum ways you are, or can use it for His glory. Faith Filled FridayWe exist to glorify God, to display His heart and character. And I just love how we are all uniquely built to do that. So every Friday I want to give you, uniquely designed by God, an opportunity to link up your thoughts on God, art, baking, photography, parenting, marriage, writing or blogging and more if they tie into or display the the Lord somehow. So go ahead and link up below by clicking the link below and following the prompts. I just humbly ask that you please let your readers know by including a link at the bottom of your post (or somewhere on your side bar) or put my button code (found on my side bar or the Faith Filled Friday Tab) so they can find these other great people glorifying God and we can continue to grow as a community. Thanks! In effort to encourage others in their writing by faith, please take a minute to comment on the two posts linked up before you. Since my mom went home to be with our Lord two months ago... heaven is a place I think of often. Eternal perspective changes our temporal choices... thank you so much for hosting. Blessings

Thank you Laura, for turning our hearts toward eternity, but helping us see the purpose in here and now and how to see the two in the same frame so that we can be useful to our Jesus. :)

I'll be checking out the Bema video, thanks for mentioning it. Also,I'd like so much to order that book by Renald Showers you shared the other day. Too bad Amazon doesn't have Kindle edition so I'll have to wait more than a month to receive copy of the book. Thanks for sharing these great resources. We do need to be motivated sometimes to be able to go on with renewed strength :).

Hi Laura! Finally got through a month of busy and catching up my blogs - not the least of which is posting ed's writings. Good to get back in the swing of things. Loved your thoughts here about going all out for His glory! Such a desire, may what is the work of my hands be just that - for His glory!

This is a much needed reminder. It is so easy to get caught up in the things of this life and neglect the important things. Sounds like a great video. By everything that is happening in our world right now, it is apparent that Jesus' coming can't be too far off. Wow, what a surprise that will be for so many - even many who call themselves Christians.
