The internet can be such a beautiful thing. I love how God leads us to little bits of encouragement right when we need them and introduces us to people who will inspire us. Out of millions of people and millions of sites, God leads us to specific people for His glory. That amazes me. Not long ago I found Lisa at A Moment with God. She is an inspiration. I believe she sees her blog as a ministry to others as she is always sharing what the Lord is teaching her and doing in her life. And I think it is pretty awesome when the favorites on your bookshelf resemble someone elses like ours do. :) She reminds me of a fragerant offering and I want you to be blessed by her so I've asked her to be my guest today. Go ahead and give her a visit and leave her an encouraging comment. Lets lavish her with encouragement today. Thank you Lisa for letting your love for the Lord spill out. God uses the strangest things to teach me. Last week He used my dog and cat to teach me a lesson about following Him. I have a very annoying dog. He follows me EVERYWHERE! If I take a step, he takes a step. If I stop moving, he stops moving. Where I go, he goes. I don't know how many times he has caused me to trip because he is always at my feet. As I was grumbling about him this morning, God spoke to my heart. He said, "That's how I want you to be with me." When we call Jesus "LORD", we are acknowledging that He is our master. A slave doesn't tell his master what to do or where to go; the slave only does his master's will. Jesus is our master and we are to obey His commands. We are to be completely devoted to God. Where He goes, we go. Where He stays, we stay. Not our will, but His. That’s how it should be. Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Ephesians 5:1 But there is another kind of follower, the kind that thinks they have God figured out. I have a cat like this. This cat isn't about following, he's about leading. He tries to anticipate my next move, and then runs ahead of me to get there first. I trip over him because he is running right in front of me, trying to lead the way. I don't find this to be amusing. God doesn't find it amusing either. The Bible says that His ways are not our ways, neither are His thoughts like our thoughts. God's character never changes, but the ways He chooses to move does change. Just about the time we think we have Him figured out, He does something completely different. God doesn't want us to try to anticipate His next move. No matter how hard we try, we can't figure Him out. What does God see when He looks at you? Are you like my dog, always following one step behind God? Or are you more like my cat, trying to lead God where you think He wants to go? Let go and let God lead today. Many blessings, Lisa My name is Lisa. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 21 years and we have three beautiful children. I home school my youngest son and help my husband with his business. I am an office manager, worship leader, small group leader, pastor's wife, church secretary, and child of God. Basically, I am just an ordinary woman who desires to be available for use by God to do extraordinary things. Lord, Our Gracious Leader and Master,
Thank you for letting us be encouraged and challenged by your sweet daughter. Thank you for how You are using her. Thank You for shaping her heart in such a way that she wants to be a blessing to You and to others. That is only a work of Your strong and gentle hands. You are so good at changing us Lord! Thank You! Lord, would You continue to use her to be a beautiful aroma pleasing to You. Would you remind her of what You love today, and remind her of what's true about You, her and the surroundings You have her in. Would you give her continued courage to face the Goliath's, knowing You will come through. Lord thank You for the faith You've given her. Thank You for the love for You and Your Word You've given her. Fix her eyes on You ,the Author and Perfector of her faith and help her run with perseverance the race marked out for her. Make her finish strong Lord. Thank You for getting to "meet" Your fragerant offering.

Great post. I have the same issue with my dog following me everywhere. It is such a great perspective to see that this is how God wants us to be with Him. Clinging to Him, obsessed with following His every move. Now every time I trip over my dog I will be reminded to move closer to God.

I love it when God uses simple things like your cat and dog (and a certain smell in my frig) to teach us lessons. I bet if we would tune our ears more frequently, we would find that He is always speaking. :) Thanks for sharing and encouraging! I am praying that I can be like the one one God's heels and not the one trying to lead the way.

Love the cat and dog illustration! I have a dog like that - and hope to be a follower of God like that!
