Full of Questions

I am reading through Mark right now. I love how he is so action-oriented. And I feel like I can relate to him being a young person. I just learned yesterday that his mom is Mary, the lady who had the 1/2 night of prayer when Peter was released from prision. (I think it is Acts 16?) How neat it must have been for him to have a mom who prayed and valued it enough to have people over praying late into the night. How neat it must have been to be around people like Peter and the disciples. How much older were they than him I wonder??  I think John was the youngest of the disciples... so I wonder how Mark got along with John.

Anyway, in chapter 8:22-25 just caused way too many questions to arise in my mind.

"They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led himm outside the village. When he had spit on the man's eyes and put his hands on him, 'Jesus asked, "Do you see anything?' He looked up and said, 'I see people; they look like trees walking around.' Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. Jesus sent him home, saying, 'Don't even go into the village.'"

Ok, who were these "some people" who "begged" for the blind man to be healed? And why did they beg for him to be healed? It doesnt call the friends like the guys who took the parlytic to Jesus, it doesnt call them believers, it doesnt say they were family... nothing, just some people. Do they care about the blind man? Or are they just wanting the guy healed because they need/want something from him? Perhaps this gives a clue to why Jesus personally walked him outside the city. Did the "some people" go with him outside the city. It sure doesnt seem like it. Perhaps if these "some people" were being selfish in wanting the guy healed, that is why Jesus tells him not to go back into the village.

There is so much that God doesnt tell us. But He does tell us what we need to know to see and know Him. John 20:30-31 says that the things written in scripture are written so that we may know He is the Lord.

It is interesting that after this Jesus goes on to ask the disciples in vs. 27 "Who do people say I am?"

Oh, how I want to be caught up with seeing, knowing and displaying God's character. And to not be distracted by the many things I could search out and know. But for the purpose of what???
