Here's Cambodia. Here's what's going on there and what God is doing. I love how God loves to lead people out of slavery. It is a beautiful picture of Him as the freedom giver, the One who sets the captives free. As I read through Exodus in my time with the Lord I am encouraged as I see God as the Rescuer, the Redeemer and the Restorer. Angi (an amazing woman on staff with us) and I lead a team of 14 girls to Cambodia in three weeks to work with Don Brewster (in the video above) at Rahab's house, a ministry of Agape International. I am incredibly honored at the opportunity set out, the ability to use my time, talents and resources to serve these girls and this incredible ministry. But quite honestly it is continually on the front of my mind how I am going to react when I meet these girls, when I come face to face with the moms who pimp out their daughters when now all I can do is sob when I hear their stories on video. What will I think of God? How will my view of Him be challenged? What will He let me see of Himself in these dark little places where young girls are hidden? For now all I know is that God is the Rescuer, the Restorer and the Redeemer and I thank Him for rescuing, redeeming and restoring Chang. I know that when God lead the Israelites out of slavery, when He rescued, He made it plainly obvious that He was the Lord, that He was Jehovah, the Great I AM, the self-existent One. That He takes a personal interest in rescuing, restoring and redeeming because it so obviously displays His glory, His heart, His character. I know these young girls (ages 3-15), having been sold (or tricked) into forced prostitution are fatherless and God deeply cares for them. He is there, with them. I am reminded of this through His living Word and by Elizabeth's incredible story. Though there is pain and sorrow, I am thankful
#51 It only lasts for this short season of life on earth. #52For God being the Father to the fatherless #53 For God desiring to display His glory through rescue #54 For God desiring to display His glory through redemption #55 For God desiring to display His glory through restoration #56 The incredible opportunity to get to go work with Don and Bridget at Rabah's house in 3 weeks. #57 Don and Bridget, who were willing to give everything up for making Jesus known and pouring their lives out for these girls who so desperately need someone to step in on their behalf. #58 For rescuing, redeeming and restoring Chang and her little brother. #59 For Chang putting her trust in Jesus and being able to forgive and pray for her mom. #60 For the team of girls who are willing to go with me and have a heart for loving and serving Cambodia.

Glad you linked up with Playdates--that's how I found you:) What a sobering and encouraging video. Blessings to you in this incredible journey. As I read the questions you wrote about your potential reaction, I thought of all the ways we need God to set us free to see with His eyes. It also convicted me about ways I'm enslaved that could keep me from serving HIm selflessly. Thank you for your example. I'll be praying for you.

Thank you for reminding me to be on my knees in prayer -- and to not get to comfortable with things -- and to appreciate the good and beauty around me.
