Here's little Asher, built for a purpose, ready for a mission. A purpose to glorify God, ready to be given a mission to reach the world. Here's daddy, given instruction to raise up a child in the way they should go. And he is. The other day Austin had to go get his phone fixed. Next to the phone store was an ice cream store so he took Asher out to ice cream. While he was in there he got talking to Steve the worker. While eating their ice cream Austin talked with Asher about how Steve probably doesn't know Jesus. And how they can tell him. He asked Asher, "Do you want to tell him about Jesus, or do you want me to?", "You." So then they prayed for Steve and went to start a conversation. Austin got to share with him and Asher took it all in. He caught how to share the gospel and got a heart for it, because he saw it was something important. Something valuable enough for daddy to care about it. Later when they walked by the ice cream store Asher ran over and instead of saying, "I want some ice cream" he said, "Let's go see Steve" Wow! Oh Lord, please help me see the opportunities you put before me to share the gospel and help me seize them. Help me take the initative that my kids would see it as valuable. That they would begin to value eternal more than temporary. If you have a desire to learn how to get into spiritual conversation and share the gospel there are some great resources under the Life on Mission tab.

I have tears in my eyes. Asher said, "Let's go see Steve!" YES! That is the heart of it all, relationship. Jesus wants us to have relationships so that all may have relationships with Him. Tell Asher I want to hug him, :^)

So true! It does get easier the more you initiate conversations with people. (No less scary though) You just have lots of experiences to rely on of how God came through.
