Consequences

I just started reading through Exodus. I am in chapter 4 and was taken back.  There I was reading along... and bam "At a lodging place on the way, the Lord met Moses and was about to kill him." vs. 24 Yeah, I dont remember this part...  and it seems like this whole little section is a quick little summary where the writer got tired of writing and summed everything up real fast. (Obviously that is not the case, but just kinda seemed like it.) So, as always, I have a thousand questions. Some answered, most are not.  But this does show me so much about God...

1. He doesnt need us, just like He tells us in Acts 17:25. He said in 3:8 that He was going to rescue the Israelites... and then He was going to kill Moses... obviously He didnt need Moses to be the leader. He would have done it another way.

2. Our issues dont hinder His ultimate plan. Basically His plan can not be "thwarted" by our selfishness, fear, insecurity...

3. Sin is a super big deal to Him. And He will deal with it. He wont hold back consequences forever.

4. He is not respector of persons. Some are not more important than others.

5. The blood is truly enough. (I mean, Christ's sacrifice) God still used Moses after his repentance of sin, in spite of his failure. (vs. 25)

And sometimes we really need help from others to help us overcome sin. Just like Zipporah who "took a flint knife, cut off her son's foreskin and touched Moses' feet with it. 'Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me,' referring to circumcision." vs. 25
