If It's Really You...I'm so glad you are here! I hope during your visit you get a glimpse of God's heart for we become what we are gazing at. I pray that God refreshes you and gives you readiness to persevere in what He has for you today. My desire is to be a blessing to you in helping you know God more and make Him known so I've made these Resources available to you and have the Missional Living blog tab for practical ideas of how to live on mission right where you are. If you are blogger come link up on Friday's for Brag on God Friday. "Gideon replied, "If now I have found favor in your eyes, give me a sign that it is really you talking to me." Judges 6:17 Aren't you glad that you are not the only one who wonders if it's really God leading/talking to you. Here is Gideon face to face with Jesus and he still is questioning if it's really God. Peter also, face to face with Jesus cries out, "If that is really you Lord tell me to come to you on the water." And John the Baptist wondering while he was in prison if Jesus was the expected One or if there would be another. Oh how full of doubt we can be sometimes. We have God's very words telling us God's will and we still wonder, ' God is that really you?' Oh but God! He is so great isn't He! He doesn't freak out at Gideon saying, "Gideon, seriously!? I am your stinkin Creator and I already told you 'I will be with you and you will strike down all the Midianites...' How dare you question Me the Sustainer of the universe!?" Nope, He just isn't like that. Instead He just kept reminding Gideon and Peter of the truth of who He was. Amazing that the Creator, Sustainer, Deliverer, Speaker, Star-breather, Judge of all is also patient with us knowing we are but dust. Thank you Lord! We live in constant need of Your patience and yet You never run dry of it. He does beauty from ashes beautiful! He uses our weaknesses and insecurities to show off His incredible patience and grace! Lord, help us see You as You truly are more and more. And help us fix our gaze on You, trust You and yield to You. Transform us from the inside out as we behold You and make us look more and more like the reflection of You. And Lord, help us take You at Your word. Help us not put confidence in our own flesh but in You the Giver of Life and Truth. Help us have more faith than Gideon and not demand a sign from You but value Your Word as highly as You do. This issue Gideon was struggling with, discerning God's will is a common one. And a pretty important one. Below is a helpful tool in helping to discern God's will. I think you might like and appreciate it. Give it a glance? Go ahead and print it off and give it to others if you'd like. So today I am bragging on God as the Patient Truth Giver and I just love that about Him! Great post, Laura! So true that with God it is the process, the journey that is important to Him, what we are becoming, our getting to know Him and getting closer to Him that is important. A wonderfully blessed new year to you and your family! Patsy from <br /><a href="http://patsypat.blogspot.com"

In my writings, I depend on the Lord to give the inspiration and leading on which way to go. I do this by praising and worshiping Him in private or meditating on His Word, then I strain my heart to listen to His voice. This way, I would be certain that He is really the One talking to me! :)

We often hesitate when God speaks to us! Is it really you Lord? or is this just my own thoughts? May we rely on the Holy Spirit and on Jesus the Truth to know when it is God speaking.
