Brag On God Friday

How do you pick a favorite thing about God? Seems impossible. But if  had to,  I would probably choose Eternal. To think that I could learn about Him my entire life and never come to the end of knowing all there is to know about Him.

Or even just one of His attributes. Lets take Creative. For all eternity I could learn and discover and behold His creativity and never see all there is to see, never experience all His creativity. Wow! Seriously, wow!

I was thinking about how we as people display this as I was getting briefed on how to be a good jury person. (I had my first summons, but ultimately didn't end up getting picked. Kinda bummed, I would have loved to be a part of justice.)

Every jury person is very different. Different race, background, expertise, family life yet they all come together to focus on one thing. Doing what they think is right with the evidence they are given. They put their differences aside and focus on the task at hand, the mission of truth.

What a striking parallel of Christians! We too are very different, yet all focused on one thing, the mission. Getting distracted with petty differences is detrimental.

Then I see this same principle in something simple as Creamy Vegetable Delight. Many vegies but they all fit together to make a yummy side dish. (I'll put the receipe at the bottom.)

It is like God is showing us all over the place that He is creative and eternally unique. Each person we come in contact with has a unique characteristic that shows us God's heart which no other person alive can show us. Like my incredible mom, the most generous person I know, or my sweet friend Andrea who is the funniest person I know. They didn't muster up these qualities. God designed them. He made, crafted them. Why? To show us what He is like. Have you ever thought of God being generous? How about funny? How about eternally funny? Hmmm. I can say that I have never thought about that. But all good things are gifts from Him right? And where do His good gifts originate? Him. 

I love that God is Eternal!

Creamy Vegetable Delight

Prep Time: 15 min.
Cook Time: 20 min.

Ingredients
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup chopped broccoli
2 cups thinly sliced carrots
1/2 cup water
1 cup sliced mushrooms
2 med. onions, each cut into 8 wedges
1 can cream of asparagus oup
1/3 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream

1. Heat 1 Tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add croccoi and carrots. Cook stirring, for 1 min. Add water. Cover; cook unti carrots are crisp-tender, about 3 min. Drain.

2. Add remaining oil to skillet. Add mushrooms and onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are tender, about 10 min.

3. Meanwhile, combine soup and milk in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium. Simmer soup mixture, stirring constantly, for 5 min. Sir in sour cream.

4. Pour sauce over vegetables. Spoon creamed vegies into a serving bowl.
