Yesterday, I attended an outdoor church service. We got up before the break of dawn and gathered together under the open sky. The clouds created a fluffy blanket that covered the blue expanse and created a gloomy atmosphere. The dewy chill of early day lingered, and I grew cold. Just as the call to worship began, the most amazing thing happened. The sky parted, and the sun peeked through – light and warmth reached out to us. God Himself seemed to be smiling in agreement. I love “God glimpses” like that. If you are paying attention, creation will remind you of who God is. He is clearly visible through His handiwork. 4 Aspects of God Evident through Creation: God’s Presence : Your Creator God is present with you at all times and in all places. “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge. there is no speech, nor are there words; Their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their utterances to the end of the world. In them He has placed a tent for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber; It rejoices as a strong man to run his course. Its rising is from one end of the heavens, And its circuit to the other end of them; And there is nothing hidden from its heat” Psalms 19:1-6 God’s Power : Your Creator God is able to do the impossible simply by speaking a word. “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, And by the breath of His mouth all their host. He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deeps in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast” (Psalms 33:6-9). God’s Protection : Your Creator God surrounds you with His care. “I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip—He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep” (Psalms 121:1-4). God’s Provision: Your Creator God has an unending supply to meet your every need. “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. As it is written, “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God” (2 Corinthians 9:8-11). As you step outside this week, ask God to give you a glimpse of His glory through His creation. His fingerprints are visible through His handiwork great and small. As you look and listen and lean into Him, you will see His beauty on display. About LyliLyli Dunbar loves teaching. OH, there's hardly anything that moves me more than outdoor worship. With music or without. With words or without.

I am a big nerd for outdoor events -- there's something really special about sitting with friends and lifting our hearts to the heavens together.

Yes! I need to be more intentional about this as well -- especially since I am cooped up in an office all day.
