Here at Missional Women...
This week has been seemingly more busy than most! Once again, our lovely host, Laura has created a tool for helping women grow in their relationship with God. As you may have read in her blog post this week:
"How I Still Have A Quiet Time {With Five Little Kids}" Laura wrote about a subject that she has been admittedly nervous to talk about in the past--the cost and reward of having a daily quality time with the Lord during the years with little kids. As the Missional Women intern, I get the pleasure to meet with Laura weekly for discipleship and to connect about Missional Women Happenings (like our awesome conference coming up). She has given me the tools to overhaul my Quiet Times. I remember, before Laura and I met, sitting on my couch with a cup of coffee (not because I even liked coffee, but because I saw Pinterest girls reading their Bibles and drinking coffee) and I held The Book in my hands. Feeling overwhelmed, and not wanting to do something wrong in the presence of The Bible, I stared at Genesis Chapter One. It seems silly looking back on that now. As a new-er Christian, I knew reading the Bible was important. Every few days, I would flip to a page and read a few lines. Later, someone told me to read one book at a time. So I tried doing that, but always found a way to get the names mixed up in my head. I couldn't fathom reading it for fun, yet alone actually learning something from the Bible. Since then, I have fallen in love with not just the Lord, but His Word and the time I get to spend with Him while reading it. One day, Laura asked me "well, how do you set up your Quiet Times to get the most out of them?" I realized, I had never been shown a way to do it effectively! Are you like this too? Or maybe you are at a point where you have been doing your Quiet Times the same way for so long it seems like a routine and not time truly connecting with God? We, as Missional Women, are going through the Missional Women App Bible Reading Plan. And, to help us get the most out of our daily time with the Lord, Laura developed these cute journals that help us understand, personally apply, and connect with God about what we are reading. I'm so excited! And, if I'm being honest, I'm equally excited to have a shelf full of these journals someday--I can't wait to look back on each journal (each book of the Bible) and see what God taught me. Want to join us? {Galatians starts December 1st & 1st Samuel starts December 7th} I hope you join us in the Bible Journal Reading Plan. Thanks, again, for linking up with us!
We exist to glorify God, to display His heart and character. And I just love how we are all uniquely built to do that. So every Friday I want to give you, uniquely designed by God, an opportunity to link up your thoughts on God, art, baking, photography, parenting, marriage, homeschooling, writing or blogging and more if they tie into or display the Lord somehow.
Here's how it works. 1. Link up as many blog posts as you want below by clicking the link below and following the prompts. (Perhaps think of old posts you want more exposure to as well as new ones.) 2. Let your readers know by including a link at the bottom of your post (or somewhere on your side bar) or paste my button code (found below and on the side bar). 3. Take a minute to visit and comment on another sweet lady or two's post. You're encouragement might be just what she needs to keep pressing on in being a voice in the darkness.
Who was Jesus? What is the Bible actually about? Find out for yourself here.
