This week is our family vacation. We're camping at the Sand Dunes and it is amazing. A perfect vacation spot for families with little ones. Seven of us in a tent (with two pack and plays) and it went WAY better than I was expecting. Everyone actually got a full nights sleep believe it or not! This morning I got to share the Gospel with a little 8 year old girl who is our camping neighbor. I hope to get to talk to her more tonight, so please pray for her. She has heard about Jesus but didn't know why He died and has never heard of sin. Please pray for her to understand the Gospel and pray for Austin and I to explain things clearly for an 8 year old. Anyway, Austin hiked all the way to the top with the boys and made the comment "They can do 10x as much as they think they can. The just need more opportunities to find out." Isn't that just like us! "I can't" can sometimes dominate our thoughts and actions. Of course maybe it sounds more like complaining or nagging, or blame shifting but the same attitude is underneath. But didn't Jesus tell us we can... by His strength. (Phil. 4:13) I fear that I (and maybe you?) forfeit opportunities to see God be strong in our weakness because we don't even take a tiny step of effort relying on Him. Here's to stepping out in faith and trying hard things/taking risks to cause us to rely on Him. We exist to glorify God, to display His heart and character. And I just love how we are all uniquely built to do that. So every Friday I want to give you, uniquely designed by God, an opportunity to link up your thoughts on God, art, baking, photography, parenting, marriage, homeschooling, writing or blogging and more if they tie into or display the Lord somehow. Hi Laura,
Reply
I love the thought of trusting him in our weakness. Just this week we completed VBS at our church in circumstances that seemed impossible. We took a leap of faith and He provided in our weakness. Thanks for encouraging us to move toward that which seems impossible in our own level of strength.
