It is seriously mind blowing that we get to interact with the God who spoke all we see into existence. The One who gave understanding to the mind, the One who has always existed and knows the end from the beginning and is not bound by time. It is mind blowing that He made a way for us to hear from Him... for us the finite to understand the infinite. What!? That though He knows even the tiniest details of each person who has ever lived... ever... He still makes a way to be involved in our life and intimately acquainted with all our ways. Tomorrow is the last day of the Great Commission training summer project we've been leading for college students. Each day the staff have been giving talks and doing outdoor activities related to the talks. And as it goes we ran out of ink as we needed to print 18 of the Thrive discipleship packets (if you're curious, type "Thrive" in the search bar at the top). The store is 45 minutes away and Austin took two of our kiddos and went on his way. Not too long after he left I realized we also needed staples. I tried to call and the phone across the room started ringing, he forgot his phone. My first reaction was worry. It's a long drive, he has two of the kids, what if something were to happen, he's in the middle of no where. A couple hours later they arrive back and everything turned out just fine. But the Lord, the Knower of all things convicted me that I was putting more confidence in a phone for the ability to protect and provide than I was in Him. Him!! The One who gave understanding to the mind and wisdom to the one who even made the cell phone! Oh how silly and foolish of me. But really... how incredible that God... the Master loves us enough to correct us. And how gently He does it! How generous to even share and expose truth in our lives. And how merciful to see us through the perfection and blood of Christ. Thankful for who God is today. Faith Filled Friday Blog Link Up We exist to glorify God, to display His heart and character. Oh how I love that word "gentle." I'm thankful God deals gently with me when I need correction. I struggle with the fear factor, too. Something I've been working on (Constantly planning funerals in my head for family who may be a bit late is exhausting!). This was one of God's gentle reminders. Thank you for your faithfulness.
