My husband and I (along with six other staff) are a week into leading the Crush Fear summer mission project for college students. We do a bunch of outdoor adventure along with a couple talks/trainings each day on knowing God and how to make Him known. It is going great so far. Tomorrow is an outreach to a Native American reservation where students will be getting into spiritual conversations at a flea market.
Though it is going good, the battle in my mind and heart has been raging. The enemy wants to destroy us and a couple ways he goes about doing that is to distract us and discourage us. The past couple days I see both of those clearly. Today I was on the verge of just giving up giving myself fully to the work of the Lord because my feelings felt like it was in vain. But God... encouraged me multiple times today through His Word and His people and helped get my feelings aligned with truth using verses like, "Therefore my dear brothers and sisters, give yourself fully to the work of the Lord for you know your labor in the Lord is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:58 And how incredible that I just put up Jen's post on 10 Reasons to Stand in the Midst of Battle which was yet another source of encouragement that spoke deeply to me. How great is God at being God!!!! If I had not spoke up and shared my discouragement and the things I was struggling through I would still be stuck in discouragement. Are you discouraged too? Speak up and share your thoughts with someone who is close to the Lord that can come alongside and encourage you. It's so worth it.
We exist to glorify God, to display His heart and character. And I just love how we are all uniquely built to do that. So every Friday I want to give you, uniquely designed by God, an opportunity to link up your thoughts on God, art, baking, photography, parenting, marriage, homeschooling, writing or blogging and more if they tie into or display the Lord somehow.
Here's how it works. 1. Link up as many blog posts as you want below by clicking the link below and following the prompts. (Perhaps think of old posts you want more exposure to as well as new ones.) 2. Let your readers know by including a link at the bottom of your post (or somewhere on your side bar) or paste my button code (found below and on the side bar). 3. Take a minute to visit and comment on another sweet lady or two's post. You're encouragement might be just what she needs to keep pressing on in being a voice in the darkness. About Laura

Discouragement can cripple us for the journey. I am convinced it also keeps us from praying those powerful prayers in the midst of the battle. When we are most discouraged it is just as those doors are beginning to open and we will see if we push through the way He is working things out, even if it is only a glimpse.

Laura, this morning may you find encouragement in this - "YET I still DARE to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:21-23, NLT) May you dig deep into His love & dare to hope in Him! Blessings!

What gorgeous photos! Thank you for this message today, I really needed to hear it. The enemy is out on the attack, especially when you are trying to serve and do God's will. God is so much bigger than that and the calling He has placed for us all. Thank you for your encouragement :)
