Faith Filled Friday & Serving One

The Lord has been breaking me, chiseling off rough edges and making me more like Him. Before having enough kids for our own small basketball team I thought I understood serving. But as I bundle up five kids and walk with a stroller through a snow storm to school with a bad attitude I am humbled and realize how much I truly have to learn. 

I want to be like Jesus who served when it was convenient or easy. I see the need to continually remind myself I am here to serve, not to be served. And I see how far I fall short. But as I look to and yield to Him, the Great Servant, I see His grace is sufficient to make me the kind of servant I need to be. 

And really no matter who I am serving, my kids, my husband, our staff, it's ultimately serving Him. The Great I AM, the Beginning and the End, the Creator, Sustainer and Author and Perfector, the One who matters more than life itself.

We exist to glorify God, to display His heart and character. And I just love how we are all uniquely built to do that.
