I really appreciate people who will tell it to me straight. To speak the truth and not shrink back especially when it hurts or is uncomfortable. And if they can say it gracefully, my admiration skyrockets. That's why these two guys are some of my favorite never met people, David Plat and Francis Chan. They are willing to say things for the glory of God that are super hard to hear. That takes guts... well, I guess a massive love for Jesus and courage are better words to describe them. We exist to glorify God, to display His heart and character. And I just love how we are all uniquely built to do that. So every Friday I want to give you, uniquely designed by God, an opportunity to link up your thoughts on God, art, baking, photography, parenting, marriage, homeschooling, writing or blogging and more if they tie into or display the Lord somehow. So go ahead and link up below by clicking the link below and following the prompts. Please just let your readers know by including a link at the bottom of your post (or somewhere on your side bar) or put my button code (found below and on the side bar) so they can find these other great people glorifying God and we can continue to grow as a community. Thanks! And in effort to encourage others in their writing by faith, please take a minute to comment on another sweet lady's post. Oh! Love this - we're just finishing David Platt's, "Follow Me" and moving onto "Radical" at our church's Sunday morning discussion group - YES! What a burning truth this is and I'm so ignited to see these two pastors providing leadership in the business of making disciples. The church has been starving for this after the popular seeker friendly feel good brand of Christianity we've known the past 20 years. Wake us up, Lord!

Radical is soooo good! I just love how he says hard things and calls people to live for Jesus and His mission with everything. Havent read follow me yet, but it's on the shelf. :)

I believe it is our duty to be disciples for Christ, just as the early disciples of the church were called to do by Jesus. Otherwise the message is not taken throughout the world. If we cannot speak boldly, or speak the Truth with grace to everyone, His message will be lost or fall on deaf ears. The Holy Spirit will equip us if we prayerfully ask for this skill. Thank you for this link up.

Yes! And often among our competitive, comparing culture it probably could be easy for them to compare themselves rather than partner. Grateful for their example.

They are also two of my favorite never met people :)! I agree that if Christians have no desire to reach out to the lost and to make disciples, there's something wrong. Jesus came to seek and to save. It's God's heart. Transformed believers take the Great Commission seriously. I once wrote a post titled, "Have We Committed a Crime?" which addressed this same issue. If you're interested, you can read it at http://bornagainandblessed.blogspot.com/2009/10/have-we-committed-crime.html .
