Nothing snaps me back to surrendering to Jesus more than when I attempt to share His Gospel. There is this true vulnerability that overwhelms me. This feeling of, "all of this is pointless unless You come through," sustains my heart. For me, it's the ultimate check of "I humbly and wholly need you."
Over the last few years, I have seen seasons of begging God to use me to grow His Kingdom and there have been seasons where I haven't been bold enough to even start a conversation with a stranger. This leads me to a question I want to ask you: Have you tried the Great Commission recently? Well, have you? In all honesty, I shared the Gospel for the first time in MONTHS the other day. What was once a regular occurrence got put on the back burner for a million different little reasons. This isn't meant to be condemning or guilt ridden, but just a question to check our hearts. Have we tried the Great Commission recently? Have we stepped out in faith and allowed God to grow His Kingdom through us? For those of you that are declaring YES so proudly. Great job! I'm beyond proud of you! Living missionary can become messy and awkward and look at you go, sister! Doing work for Jesus! I LOVE it! For those of you that are realizing that it has been awhile, it's okay. You can't change God's view of you. You can't earn His love--you've already got it. But I urge you to pray for confidence. Pray for God to overwhelm you with opportunities to share The Gospel. "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." -Matthew 28:19 We are called to GO we are called to TRY. So whether you have tried every day this week, you haven't tried in years or never tried at all, I urge you to try. God will be faithful with your vulnerability, every time. I promise.
We exist to glorify God, to display His heart and character. And I just love how we are all uniquely built to do that. So every Friday I want to give you, uniquely designed by God, an opportunity to link up your thoughts on God, art, baking, photography, parenting, marriage, homeschooling, writing or blogging and more if they tie into or display the Lord somehow.
Here's how it works. 1. Link up as many blog posts as you want below by clicking the link below and following the prompts. (Perhaps think of old posts you want more exposure to as well as new ones.) 2. Let your readers know by including a link at the bottom of your post (or somewhere on your side bar) or paste my button code (found below and on the side bar). 3. Take a minute to visit and comment on another sweet lady or two's post. You're encouragement might be just what she needs to keep pressing on in being a voice in the darkness. About Jacque:

Thanks for going there in talking about the risk that comes with sharing the Gospel.

I have been quoted as saying, " I am not the evangelistic sort of girl." But I was challenged that if I am a Jesus follower, then I need to be. :) So I try, but it is always less bold than the people I think are truly gifted with the ability to speak His Gospel all the time in the market place and home place.

A team from our church left for Africa this morning so I was parked at the end of Matthew in my own quiet time. While I have not been called to go, I have certainly been called to pray and go in other ways. I'm also reading "The Hole in Our Gospel" by Richard Stearns (the President of World Vision), and it's been really powerful. Great book if you've got time to pick it up.

Always a great question. Not asked enough. I just joined a sales company that purports: don't sell, just show. And I immediately thought of my neighbor two doors down: Lord, Help me show Katie the Gospel. I mean, if i work on it for sales/job, shouldn't I be as diligent for redemption. So I texted, let's walk. We did, I began to show/tell the Gospel. She didn't agree. But it was a beginning of a conversation and my life in her life, day by day may be more telling than any words I might say. Great post, Jackie
