Ephesians 3:20 tells us God "is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." I don't know about you but when I think of more than I can imagine I immediately try to imagine something great, which always happens to be within my time period. But twice this week I saw an immeasurably beyond, even WAY beyond the persons time period. On Monday after making a connection I wrote this on the Missional Women facebook page: Did you know: When God told Jonah to go share the Gospel with the people of Ninevah, they were a brutal people who would cut babies into pieces and do other horrific things. (No wonder he didn't want to go-understandable right). But eventually after seeing Gods plan is really the best plan Jonah went and the city ended up repenting. And did you know... Modern day Ninevah is Mosul, Iraq-a city full of Christians now being persecuted by a brutal group. Let's pray for the persecutors in Mosul Iraq. If God changed an entire city of horrific torturers once, He surely can do it again. Jonah had no idea that his obedience to God would lead to a city of many Christians many, many years later. And here's another: Thomas Edison created the phonograph with the intention of being a tool used for dictation. But turns out it wasn't used for that but rather the technology behind it eventually launched a massive music industry. So basically we can learn the best place to live is in trust, obedience and dependence on the Lord and leave the results up to Him. As some wise person said, Work as though its all up to you but trust knowing its all up to God. Faith Filled Friday Blog Link Up We exist to glorify God, to display His heart and character. Thank you, Laura, for sharing this. It's so important to have God's perspective in all that we do. Also, just like in your prayer request, we need reminding to come in the opposite spirit and pray for these evil people instead of wishing the wrath of God on them.
