I love Christmas music! Starting on Thanksgiving day, I start listening to a completely new playlist of beautiful songs -- all which point right to who Jesus is. Have you ever considered that talking about the words to a Christmas Carol is a simple way share your faith? Take "Joy to the World" for an example. Isaac Watts penned the words to this song originally as a poem to celebrate the finished redemptive work of Jesus. It's basically a paraphrase of Psalm 98: Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn-- shout for joy before the Lord, the King. (vs 4-6, NIV) Although not actually written as a Christmas hymn, the lyrics communicate the spirit of celebration of this season. How to Share Jesus using Joy to the World
Just think about the joy He's brought to your life and then speak from your heart. Let's Talk: Do you have a favorite Christmas carol that points to Jesus? We exist to glorify God, to display His heart and character. And I just love how we are all uniquely built to do that. So every Friday I want to give you, uniquely designed by God, an opportunity to link up your thoughts on God, art, baking, photography, parenting, marriage, homeschooling, writing or blogging and more if they tie into or display the Lord somehow. Here's how it works: 1. Link up as many blog posts as you want below by clicking the link below and following the prompts. (Perhaps think of old posts you want more exposure to as well as new ones.) 2. Let your readers know by including a link at the bottom of your post (or somewhere on your side bar) or paste our button code (found below and on the side bar). 3. Take a minute to visit and comment on another sweet lady or two's post. Your encouragement might be just what she needs to keep pressing on in being a voice in the darkness. About Lyli

A favorite Christmas carol? That's a hard one because I love so many of them. For some reason I've always liked "We Three Kings" and, of course, "Silent Night." I loved how you took the phrases from Joy to the World and explained how we can use them to share our faith. May you both enjoy all the joy Christ came to give us this Christmas season. Blessings!

Taking the words of Joy to the World and using them to share the truth of Jesus with someone is a wonderful idea! Everyone knows this song and sings it at Christmas making it the perfect way to talk with our unsaved friends and family. Thanks for sharing this with us!

O Come O Come Emmanuel is one of my favorite Christmas carols. The somber tone of it plus the request and the hope in it just combine to make it beautiful to me!
