Bill Bright, the founder of CRU {formerly Campus Crusade} says, “I am more convinced than ever that there is nothing more important to teach another believer than who God is, what He is like and why or how He does what He does. In fact, everything about our lives-our attitudes, motives, desires, actions, and even our words-is influenced by our view of God. Whether our problems are financial, moral, or emotional, whether we are tempted by lust, worry, anger, or insecurity, our behavior reflects our beliefs about God. What we believe to be true about God’s character affects our friendships, our work and leisure activities, the types of literature we read, and even the music to which we listen.” And A.W. Tozer wrote, “The low view of God entertained almost universally among Christians is the cause of a hundred lesser evils everywhere among us. With our loss of the sense of majesty has come the further loss of religious awe and the consciousness of the divine presence. …It is impossible to keep our moral practices sound and our inward attitudes right while our idea of God is erroneous or inadequate. If we would bring back spiritual power to our lives, we must begin to think of God more nearly as He is.” Oh Lord, give us a glimpse of Your glory. Help us see You as You truly are. Crush our low view of you for we know it affects everything about us. We exist to glorify God, to display His heart and character. And I just love how we are all uniquely built to do that. So every Friday I want to give you, uniquely designed by God, an opportunity to link up your thoughts on God, art, baking, photography, parenting, marriage, homeschooling, writing or blogging and more if they tie into or display the Lord somehow. So go ahead and link up below by clicking the link below and following the prompts. Please just let your readers know by including a link at the bottom of your post (or somewhere on your side bar) or put my button code (found below and on the side bar) so they can find these other great people glorifying God and we can continue to grow as a community. Thanks! And in effort to encourage others in their writing by faith, please take a minute to comment on another sweet lady's post. Reading Mr. Tozer always leaves me with the 'aha' moment that stops me in my tracks and shocks me with the simple extravagance of reality. Our low view of God opens the door to many lesser-evils.... and then lends to errors in judgment as we operate in unbelief... aha!

Yes, I agree--our low view, incomplete and too-often tainted with suspicion is the source of so many of our struggles. Thanks for this post. Love AW Tozer!
