Will the World End on December 21st, 2012?

I'm so glad you are here! I hope during your visit you get a glimpse of God's heart for we become what we are gazing at. I pray that God refreshes you and gives you readiness to persevere in what He has for you today.  My desire is to be a blessing to you in helping you know God more and make Him known so I've made theses Resources  and tools available to you and write a Weekday Devotional to provide insights from God's Word.

There is talk that the world will end one year from today, December 21st, 2012. (So I decided to re-post this.) But this would make for a great topic to bring up spiritual conversation with people in your life. You can start by asking simple questions like, "So do you think the world is going to end next December?" and follow up with the question, "Well, if it did, do you think you would go to heaven?"  Then that will lead you into the gospel. I bet it will be a great conversation, have fun! (For other evangelism ideas visit Eternity Impact.)

So, will the world end on Decemeber 21st of 2012? Is Nostradamus and the Mayan calendar right? 

No.
Though it will be soon. How do I know?
Because there are a lot things that are suppose to happen before then that haven't.
God did not want us to be ignorant about it. Concerning the end He said, "Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door." (Matt. 24":32-33)  so He gave us a very specific picture of what is going to happen before the world ends. And it hasn't happened yet. 

So what is suppose to happen before the world ends?
I am going to be pretty brief and as clear as I can about the seven years before the end. 

Before the end there will be, "wars and rumor of wars... nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains." (Matt. 24:6-8 Revelation describes these same events as the four horsemen.) 

At the start of the 7 year period Russia and Iran will attack Israel. And there will be a man that arises that comes to bring peace. After 3 and 1/2 years he will enter the new temple built by the Jews in Israel (which has every single element they need to build at this very second, they are just waiting for the go ahead) and will make a sacrifice on the altar. The person who does this is the anti-Christ. He will be loved by almost everyone and will do signs and wonders and will call himself god. 

The anti-Christ entering the temple is the Abomination of Desolation and that will mark the last 3 1/2 years before the End of the World as we know it. This period is going to be awful upon awful. This is when God's full wrath will be released on mankind. Sores, rivers and waters turning to blood, men scorches with fire, animals attacking people, Euphrates River dries up, the largest earthquake ever. People will want to die, but wont be able to. 

But then! The greatest of all chapters! Revelation 19. Jesus returns. (He wont have to announce and convince people He is God (like the anti-Christ) we will all know because He will come riding on a white horse as to battle from the sky. The people who trust Him with their life will be with Him. 

Big battle...  Jesus destroying evil. Think justice. (Seriously trying to keep it brief, but this is going to be incredible!) 

And then a new earth will be made... heaven on earth. Awesome beyond awesome! (I wish I had time to talk more about it-it is the most exciting part.) And there is so much more to say about the scroll...  if you have time, please read it. It is fasinating. A big long, but fasinating!
