The first time I ever heard the pastor speak, he spoke on Colossians 4. He challenged our church to go out, to do and live the Great Commission. And the heart of the whole sermon was that it began with prayer. “Devote yourself to praying for those you want to see know Jesus!” he exhorted. “Commit to praying each day. And then when the moment comes up, you will be able to have a conversation full of grace and seasoned with salt” He passed out these cards and told us to write down five people that we would love to see come to know Jesus. It wasn’t a new idea. But it was just the accountability and accessibility that I needed to be committed to praying every day. I wrote that card above about 4 years ago. It mostly lived in my Bible but sometimes got shuffled around (I found it on my bookshelf to take that picture- yes, that is totally a staged picture!). And it helped me remember to pray. My little brother has almost always been number one on my prayer list. For the longest time I thought he would permanently hold that spot. He seemed so far from the gospel. But then something crazy happened. He came on a retreat with me. Some of the wonderful guys involved in our ministry got to share the gospel with him. They shared stories with him of what God was doing. He lived in Christian community for a weekend. And then not long after that, he understood the gospel and began walking with Jesus. I still can’t believe it some days. It seemed impossible for so long. But friends, God is in the business of doing the impossible. Maybe there are people in your life that seem impossible, that seem so far. DON’T GIVE UP. I made you all this card that is so much cuter than the one I first had (sorry Pastor Rick!) and includes space for 10 people to pray for. I pray that you will get to see God do the impossible as you pray for those around you! Email us at missionalwomen{at}gmail{dot}com with neat stories of what God has done! We would love to hear! Our son's name is Garrett and he is not walking with Jesus! (it looks like that's your brother's name too). Be blessed today
