Do you share your faith as much as you would like to? Or as much as you feel like you should? Why? I imagine there are tons of reasons we don't live up to our own desires of ourselves. Perhaps fear, insecurity and pride rank among the top. What I've experienced is the more I initiate talking about spiritual things with people, the more my misconceptions and insecurities dwindle. (Until I go a season without sharing very often. Then they begin to build again.) But once I take that tiny step of faith just to begin a conversation, it's just really so exciting. And afterward it's like a giant sigh of relief and I end up thinking, "I did it! And it was soo good! They really wanted to talk about Jesus!" Just like this story about Brittany, definitely worth the read. People truly are eager to know the very thing God built them to live for. Getting into a spiritual conversation can be difficult and then going from a spiritual conversation to the discussing the gospel all the way through is even more difficult. Here are my top ten questions to get into a spiritual conversation. And next week I will post my top ten questions to lead into sharing the gospel. 10 Questions for Starting Spiritual Conversations 1. What’s been your experience with Christianity? 2. What do you think about Jesus? 3. We've never had a chance to talk about your religious background. Where would you say you are in your spiritual journey? 4. I have a crazy question for you. Say something awful happened and we died and are standing before God and He says to you, “Why should I let you into heaven?” What would you say? 5. If you were to die tonight are you sure you'd go to heaven? Has anyone ever explained how you can know for sure? 6. What is your concept of God? Do you view Him positively or negatively? 7. Have you ever come to a point in your life where you’ve surrendered your life to Christ? If not, what’s holding you back? 8. If you could be sure there is a God, would you want to know Him? Or if you could know God personally, would you want to? 9. Have you ever heard my story of how God changed my life? 10. How do you think someone becomes a Christian? Why not try some of these out and see where your conversation takes you. Maybe you'll get a chance to share the gospel. Read more of the 31 Days of Missional Living. Did you benefit from this?
