I imagine you know both strong Christians and Christians that really aren't that close with the Lord. Do you know why? Or have you ever seen someone grow dramatically fast in their relationship with the Lord while others don't? Do you know why? I've seen it over and over and have found the people who spend significant amount of time with the Lord grow very strong and quickly in their relationship with the Lord. Whereas the ones who don't, look the same as they did a year earlier. Isn't that crazy! That time with the Lord changes us so much. But it totally makes sense, we become like who we spend time with. So here is some tips on how (and why) to spend time with the Lord. And here's a free printable to help you grow close with the Lord through His Word. It's my very favorite way to study Scripture. I find the greater the cost of discipleship for Christians, the greater their devotion to the Lord.

I like how you say the "tyranny of the urgency" of the things we need to do. That is so true - writing them down breaks the yoke of that tyranny!

Laura, I have seen this over and over in so many Christian lives. I was called into missions at a young age and now years later I go back to my home church and some people are still standing in the same spot falling apart at every crisis because they have never nurtured their faith. It is hard to see. Thanks for the post. Stop by Life Bubbling Over ! cathyzpeek.com and get acquainted. Blessings on your week. :)
