I had the privilege of getting to be the keynote speaker and speak for four sessions at a conference last weekend going through my workbook, Discover God's Calling for your Life. I tried to video it for you, but video cameras and I aren't really the best of friends and it decided to turn itself off after 11 minutes each session. So, that's a bummer. But, I have something else for you along the lines of giving you free conference material. Squeal. Right now I am a speaker for an online conference. The Flourish Conference is an online conference for women who desire to passionately pursue God and his Word. They have sought out some pretty amazing women from all over the country who have encountered many of life's challenges. These tenacious ladies have pressed into God's Word and His promises rather than give into defeat. Over the course of 5 days, 15 speakers offer hope as they share candidly about their brokenness that became new life through the power of a faithful God. Sharing their personal stories with the desire you too may become fruitful in faith, family, and life. These ladies transparently open the stories of their lives: the good, the bad, the ugly, and the beautiful. They show no one is too far. No one is too stuck to reach out today for God’s mercy to rescue them. Here is how the conference will work: You sign up and then each day you will receive an email with that day's three video interviews. Each video gives you an encouraging glimpse into the lives of these ordinary-yet-exceptional women who open their lives to reveal how you can flourish in practical ways on a wide variety of topics such as prayer, fitness, financial management, home organization, parenting, Bible study, and more. Here's the line-up of speakers over the next five days: Day 1 Established in the Word Faith -- Sarah Frazer: Studying God's Word in your Everyday Ordinary Life Family -- Sarah Ann Good: The Family Bible Study Toolkit Life -- Jessi Fearon: Flourishing in your Finances Day 2 Cultivating New Life Faith – Lara Casey: How Writing the Word can Transform your Life Family – Marie Osborne: Discovering Real Joy Right Now Life -- Sharon Hines: Creating Success at Home Day 3 Flourishing in the Courts of God Faith – JoDitt Williams: Delighting in the Word of God Family – Jennifer Thorson: Teaching our Kids Self-Control over their Words Life -- Brittany Ann: Putting God First Day 4 Connected to the Vine Faith – Asherita Ciuciu: Quiet time for Busy Women Family – Ruthie Gray: Nine Liberating Steps for Mom Frustration and Anger Life -- Sara Borgstede: How to Lose Weight and Honor God with your Body Day 5 Planted in the House of the Lord Faith – Arabah Joy: Praying the Promises of the Cross Family – Caroline Allen: The Well-Ordered Kitchen Life -- Laura Krokos: Finding God's Calling for your Life The Flourish Conference is going to be over-the-top encouraging and equipping. My husband is in charge of New Staff Training with our ministry Master Plan Ministries. It is rewarding to help recruit, equip and send new missionaries to the mission field.
In recent years more and more we have seen the difficulties debt is posing a threat to being sent as missionaries. Out of control spending, and debt cause a fear and bondage unlike many other things in our culture. Money is the golden handcuffs that lead our emotions to say no the Lord when He moves us to do something for Him. No wonder the Lord said it is harder for a rich man to enter heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. The love of money leads to so many other things that keep us from saying Yes to the Lord. But what the enemy intends for evil, the Lord uses for good. When we are willing to yield to Him, He provides a way for us to get free. There are so many excellent tools to help you get your finances in order that you wont be weighed down by money. Check out the resources available for you below. Finances

Have you met the lady who is just as sweet as can be, wanting to help the world yet racing from here to there without aim or direction controlled by impulse and activities demanding her attention? She is controlled by the tyranny of the urgent and at the end of each day she still feels behind and discouraged that she didn't do anything related to why she really exists. Do you know her? Maybe you are her?
It is said about the Enemy that if he can't discourage us, He'll distract us. Distraction can come from even good things and in fact it's often the good things that distract us from the best things. “You will never know what a distraction is until you know what your goal and purpose are. You must enunciate what your final goal is. It is imperative that somehow, before God, you take that time to write out on a blank sheet of paper why you exist. How wonderful it would be to clearly write out what the purpose of your life is really about and in light of that determine what will refresh and rejuvenate you as you pursue that purpose.” Ravi Zacharias Tyranny of the urgent (doing whatever comes up because it's urgent) robs our family and ministry of effectiveness and efficiency. That's why it's so important to have Christ on the throne and clearly know your calling and long term goals broken down into short term goals. (Things we are supposed to steward, our behavior and gifts, not things we can't control like other people’s decisions). Then we are able to make decisions not based on impulse but by faith of what the Lord has called us to. Then we are able to say no to good things because though something may seem good, it is actually squishing out the best. Our calling and goals help us discern the good from best. And then when you know where you're going you are able to get more organized on how to get there. You're able to objectively look at your time and resources and determine if they are being used as tools working toward your end goal or against it. And then there are other circumstances in life, that just have to exist. But the more organized you are, the less time and energy it will take away from your main goal. Many of the resources below will help you manage the whirlwind of life helping you to be more organized and effective in your daily life and thereby making you more effective in what the Lord has called you to.
