I'm so glad you are here! I hope during your visit you get a glimpse of God's heart for we become what we are gazing at. I pray that God refreshes you and gives you readiness to persevere in what He has for you today.
My desire is to be a blessing to you in helping you know God more and make Him known so I've made these Resources available to you and have the Missional Living blog tab for practical ideas of how to live on mission right where you are. And currently I am writing my way through Judges sharing glimpses of God's heart and character for a weekday devotional. To check out the entire series so far head on over the the Judges Devotional. And if you are a blogger, come on over on Friday's for a blog hop.
"Manoah got up and followed his wife. When he came to the man, he said, "Are you the one who talked to my wife?" "I am," he said. So Manoah asked him, "When your words are fulfilled, what is to be the rule for the boy's life and work?" The angel of the LORD answered, "Your wife must do all that I have told her. She must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine, nor drink any wine or other fermented drink nor eat anything unclean. She must do everything I have commanded her."
Don't you just love how in Manoah's mind it wasn't a matter of if his wife would have a baby but when. When we take the Lord at His word, so much more can be accomplished because we are not wasting time talking through all the if's.
And I just love the patience of the Lord. Manoah basically asks Him, So what is the kids suppose to do? What is his job suppose to be? Even though that is the exact thing He had already told Samson's mama. How honoring to point back to his wife and say, she, valuable her, is suppose to do this and that. The Lord gave her, a woman a very special part to play in this cool story. (I guess people who say the Bible devalues women haven't read this part.) For how many times the Lord pointed back to mama, the point is obvious that He is making sure Manoah understands that she has a very significant role to play in all this. The Lord honors her in front of her man. How cool is that!
What a joy to think that the Lord honors us. God, the Star Breathing Creator of the unseen atoms, the One who gives understanding to the mind, honors-speaks highly of, us, those in Christ. Wow!
Oh Lord, Wow. It is amazing that You, the most worthy of honor gives it to those who were not worthy but who you made worthy. You are incredible! Oh Lord, let Your glory, Your heart and character be seen through us today by how we honor those You've put in our lives. Let us be people that brag about other behind their backs to the glory of Your name. Do this impossible without Your Spirit thing through us. We are Yours, for Your pleasure. Willing and Available.
